Taking Advantage Of Events To Boost Retail Sales

Success in Retail can be attributed to many things – hard work, an element of luck, good planning and some more hard work. Retailers should also remember to help bring a bit of luck their way, by taking advantage of any event which is occurring in or around their physical store, or indeed anywhere in the World.

Making your Retail store relevant to the passing consumer is a vital part of the marketing mix. Take an obvious example of a major sporting event (Olympics in your home city) or a world-wide event (Football World Cup in Brazil). Getting your store into the ‘theme’ is a great way to attract consumers and gives your product some relevance. A recent article in the Retail Gazette even suggested that the announcement of the new Royal baby could be boost for retailers, particularly in the fashion sector. Let’s hope this is the case.
